The Business Office will be closed on Thursday October 24, 2024.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
We will be flushing the Mains & Hydrants from September 30 , 2024 - October 31, 2024. You may experience a fluctuation in pressure and/or temporary water discoloration.
The Trustee Meeting will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at 8;30AM at the Business Office. The public is welcome to attend.
This letter is to advise those served by public sewer what is acceptable to go through the system. The only things that should be put through the system is water, human waste and toilet paper. Everything else should be disposed of in the trash. Over the last year we have been experiencing an excessively high volume of clogged pumps at our pump stations. These pumps are being clogged by wipes (baby and personal), feminine products (pads and tampons), paper towels, latex gloves, dental floss and other similar foreign matter. In order to repair a clogged pump, the pump station must first be dewatered and then the pump pulled and cleared and then replaced. A clogged pump could lead to the wastewater being backed up into homes as well as a pump having to be refurbished or in the worst case a new pump being required.
Products may be advertised as septic safe but they are not public sewer safe.
The District is spending too much time and money on this. Each incident can cost the District $500 or more. Instead of having to raise the rates to cover these costs we ask that you be kind to your neighbor and STOP flushing items that should not be flushed.
If you have any questions as to what not to flush, please contact the District.
Sincerely,
The Clinton Wastewater Treatment Facility
